Sussex County Cricket Club e-Commerce website development breaks all boundaries - This seasons Sussex County Cricket Club website development has been totally shaken up for the 2006 season with a completely new look and feel together with the integration of the highly successful Sussex Cricket TV movie highlights. After three successful seasons working with the Sussex County Cricket Club on their website strategy, Solv.IT were once again chosen to establish a long term strategy for the website with the club's commercial interests in mind.

Previously our attention has been focused on strengthening the depth of content and improving the site structure, as well as successfully introducing an e-commerce solution allowing the club to perform commercially more effectively.

Last season also witnessed the introduction of what has become the highly successful Sussex TV, allowing the club to share with it's fans movie highlights of matches, behind the scenes footage together with player and club interviews.

This season the club was keen to extend its online offerings and further improve it's commitment to its fan base. It was therefore decided that we should shake up all previous developments allowing the club to extend their commercial opportunities even further.

The website has witnessed the following enhancements for this season:

  • Look and feel - having previously worked to restricted budgets, originally a farely broad website design was implemented allowing us to focus our attentions and spend on more pressing concerns. Due to the success of previous activities we were now able to bring the website up to speed with the latest industry design techniques and development standards.
  • Navigation - with the website continuing to grow in size and stature we needed to address some minor concerns with the website's navigation. We have therefore, now introduced a third tier to the navigation system allowing us reorganise content and further ease the browsing experience.
  • Sussex TV - although with the introduction of Sussex TV to the website the main focus was to encourage end users to register to the new online membership packages, it was clear that we should not exclude non register users with our solution. This has been achieve through the introduction of snippets of movie highlights scattered throughout the website, which we hope will further engage the end user and drive interested parties to becoming an online member.
  • Log in - introducing a Log in facility to the website, has allowed the club to manage tiered online membership content through a simple registration process. While the club continues to offer services free of charge they are now in a position to benefit commercially from their extended activities, where it is now possible to show or hide information based on the detection of the end user's personal profile.

We are pleased that the club are delighted with the outcome of their revamped website as with the fans who with-in the short period of time since the launch have fedback some very positive responses.
