Red River's website solution is short and sweet
Direct Mail merchants opt for a simple but strong approach to their brochure website design.
Red River Solutions approached Solv.IT with a clear brief: "We need to get online, but we need a low maintenance site". Like many small businesses, they realised the need to represent themselves on the Internet, but could not afford vital man-hours keeping a complex site up-to-date.
The approach from Solv.IT was to identify the key points that would encapsulate the Red River Solutions brand and services online, and then build a website that delivered those messages quickly and effectively to users and then encouraged them into offline contact.
After a thorough discovery exercise, the following messages began to emerge. Red River is:
- based in the UK
- a Direct Mail and Print Management supplier
- very experienced with a friendly approach
- good at making things easy for their clients
Building on existing brand materials and colour schemes, we used the available product images and big homepage sections to give a strong message on the homepage.Throughout the site the content was kept short and sweet; creating a user experience that is geared toward revealing the key facts about Red River Solutions and then motivating them to make offline contact using either an online form or the contact details given on every page.
Vitality was a theme in the design used too. Bold colours, curved boxes, large buttons and large sweeping fonts create a highly usable and tactile site. In two key sections the content was arranged in a show-and-hide fashion; users can reveal panels giving more detail by choosing from a list. This was achieved through CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and required no extra pages in the site structure.
Red River Solutions are pleased with their "fresh-looking" website design and hope that it will help them to consolidate their strong position in a competitive field.
