AMG Cargo. Two websites, two brands, one solution
This latest Solv.IT website development demonstrates just how versatile standards-based web design can become.
AMG (The Airline Management Group) managed the cargo operations of their client airlines, including sales, operations, finance and customer relationships. They were looking to update their old website, but also needed a website that would sell their clients cargo products under the airlines' own brand.
Solv.IT's standards compliant approach proved to be the perfect solution. AMG staff can edit the corporate website, or any of the potential airline subsites (currently only GB Airways are receiving this level of service) using the form based interface in a standard browser window. Staff in any of the company's UK or overseas offices that are given access will be able to edit the content with only a basic level of training required.
The challenge of creating two distinct but coherent 'look and feel's for the different sections of the website was met using CSS design techniques. The visual website design put emphasis on the central content areas, allowing the site-wide navigation to receed when in 'Sub-site mode' and the brand of the airline to take prominence. The corporate areas were brought to life with strong representative images and a modern layout. CSS implementation means that any future sub-sites can be restyled to carry the brand of that airline.
The website (amgcargo.com) is online now and includes a host of other features including:
- client showcase
- browsable office list
- 3 online enquiry forms
- latest news with automated teaser, archive and display
- expandable card stack navigation
- scope for future development build into content and design
- automated site map
